“That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.” (1 Timothy 4:10 NIV)

Wouldn’t it be great to see more people come into recovery and enjoy this type of hope as they deal with their life’s hurts, habits, and hang-ups? Celebrate Recovery is a Kingdom ministry that strives to help men and women find that hope in our Higher Power Jesus Christ.

Hi. I’m a believer in Jesus Christ, who is overcoming sexual integrity, pride, and anger. My name is Josh. I serve as the Ministry Leader of this amazing ministry called Celebrate Recovery at the WFR Church in West Monroe. Each and every Friday night we get to celebrate victory over life’s hurts, habits, and hang- ups. We have men and women from all different walks of life who come together for one common purpose. That is Jesus Christ. The men and women you will meet on Friday nights are real, open, and honest about all their struggles. You will have the opportunity to hear stories of victory, and how Christ has delivered them. You will also hear lessons on the twelve steps and the eight biblical principles that are based on the beatitudes from Christ’s Sermon on the Mount. The last Friday of each month is Chip Night where you will get to celebrate with those who receive a sobriety chip. Celebrate Recovery will show you that there is a purpose for your life, and you don’t have to walk this walk alone.

We also have one of the best praise and worship bands in the state to help us connect to our Higher Power. Our open share groups are led by men and women who have overcome and are still overcoming. We have groups for all types of struggles that range from Anger Recovery for men to Loved Ones of an Addict for women. Our hope and purpose is not to simply tell you how to live, but to show you how we live life full of joy because of what Christ has done for us, and help you learn how to have that same joy.

We call this ministry a leadership factory because we get to give back what was given to us. We serve in so many different capacities. Friday nights at Celebrate Recovery have many opportunities to serve in areas such as cooking meals at The Way Cafe, greeting visitors, making announcements and keeping the coffee pot full. Celebrate Recovery Inside (CRI) is the number one re-entry program in the state of Louisiana, and more prisons everyday are asking us to help start a CRI at their location. The men and women that go through the CRI program stand a greater chance of never going back to prison.

At Celebrate Recovery we believe in fellowship. Throughout the year, we provide all types of events to promote safe and fun fellowship as well as give us additional opportunities to serve. In March we sponsor CR in the Park. It’s a family-friendly day that includes concerts, food, a dunking booth, face painting, horse shoe tournaments, jumpers for the kids, and all sorts of other fun activities – all free to the public. This year we had over 2200 in attendance, and next year will prove to be even bigger and better.
