Christine Adam, is a graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Liberty, as well as, a Master of Arts in Counseling. She is licensed in Louisiana as a Professional Counselor (LPC #5728) and is registered as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board for Certified Counselors and is a member of the American Psychotherapy Association (APA). Christine has experience working with clients with serious mental illnesses including Mood Disorders, Schizoaffective, Schizophrenia, Anxiety Disorders, Psychosis, PTSD, Personality Disorders, as well as, working with Geriatric Psych patients.
Christine utilizes a client centered focus in counseling and with a Cognitive Behavioral perspective in that thoughts and feelings are explored in order to better understand patterns of behavior. A therapeutic relationship is established that allows for the identification and challenging of irrational beliefs and then begin coping with self destructive thoughts. Clients are guided through a series of exercises and homework assignments that can help them learn to change their thinking and work on overcoming mental health issues.
