Karen Baird received her BS in Psychology in 1995 at LSUS and completed her masters degree in Counseling and Guidance in 2004 from Louisiana Tech University. Prior to her wok as a counselor she worked as a child maltreatment investigator and a juvenile probation officer in the states of Arkansas and Georgia. She returned to Louisiana in 1999 and helped established the Juvenile Drug Court Program in Caddo Parish. Since completing her graduate studies and becoming a licensed counselor, she has worked in a variety of settings such as corrections, private and nonprofit agencies, as well as private practice. She has worked with persons suffering from a variety of issues related to mental illness and addiction but she is most known for her expertise in treating persons seeking recovery from drugs and alcohol, gambling, and sexual behaviors. Karen also provides clinical supervision to post graduate individuals seeking licensure as an LPC.
