Shreveport, LA - LPC - Rachel Gallon is a graduate of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston with a Bachelors of General Studies with a concentration in Psychology. She went on to receive a Masters of Arts in Counseling and Guidance in 2019, also from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston. Rachel is registered with the Louisiana Professional Counselor’s Board of Examiners as a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC #7839). She is Board Certified with the National Board for Certified Counselors (ID 1230874) and a member of the Chi Sigma Iota, Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society. Rachel has experience working with co-occurring disorders such as addiction, depression, anxiety, personality disorders and bipolar disorder. She completed her counseling internship at the 26th JDC Adult Drug Court and New Day Recovery in Shreveport where she gained experience with both group and individual counseling. Rachel‘s approach as a clinician is founded on acceptance, empathy and a willingness to remain flexible in order to meet each client where they are. She focuses on helping clients challenge their irrational core beliefs and increase self esteem in order to reduce self defeating thoughts and behaviors. Rachel entered the helping profession with an eagerness to better the lives of others and make a difference in the community. She believes in forgiveness, second chances and never giving up.
